Challenge yourself to the adventure of a lifetime! Our Women’s Everest Base Camp Challenge is designed to cater for women in a safe, comfortable and encouraging environment with respect for the environment and cultural sensitivity.
Rated one of the best treks in the world - The Everest Base Camp trek takes you deep into the heart of the Himalaya. The trek offers grandstand views of the world's highest mountains and it’s even more dramatic surroundings: Sherpa people and their unique culture and traditions, picturesque village and valleys, monasteries and Tibetan Buddhism, serene rivers and glaciers, flora and fauna and walking in the world’s highest Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park.
The trip begins with an eye-opening flight to Lukla (2800m / 9185 ft), and then walking into the Himalayas following the beautiful valley and villages, mixing with the Sherpa people and their unique way of life and enjoying the breathtaking scenery which offers a unique blend of physical challenge, mental relaxation and spiritual uplift.
Qualification: It does not require any previous trekking experience, but should be able to hike for about 5 to 6 hours a day over hilly terrain with a light day pack. Your duffle bag will be carried by porters. ‘Slow and steady’ is the key to achieving the goal and enjoying the trek.
Acclimatization: Over the years we have come up with the best itinerary to aid in the acclimatization process. We have become the gold standard tour operator for Everest Base Camp trek with over 95% success rate to date; this is achieved by our expert guides and having 3 nights in Namche Bazaar at (3440m / 11287 ft) instead of usual 2 nights for the initial acclimatization. This one extra night makes a big difference in the process of acclimatization and provides the best chance of making a safe and enjoyable journey to the Everest Base Camp.
Accommodation & food: On the trek you'll experience local food and culture and sleep in traditional, warm and friendly mountain lodges run by Sherpa families. The accommodations at mountain are not luxury, but our carefully selected lodges are clean, comfortable and provide better services. At few higher places, bathrooms are shared, but in adequate numbers. Hot showers are few - and where they are available, you have to pay for the privilege. But, it is not recommended to take shower at few colder and higher places. The food is fresh and nice. We recommend eating high-card foods which provides energy and warmth and less meat as it may not be fresh at higher altitude.
Insurance: Travel insurance is mandatory for Everest Base Camp Trek. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance which provides coverage for trip interruption, flight cancellation, loss of baggage, medical, emergency assistance etc.
Visa: Tourist entry visa can be obtained at Kathmandu airport upon arrival. The visa fee is US $ 50 for a 30 days multiple-entry tourist visa.
Guide: One of the main reasons for recommending us by our clientele is - our guides. They are highly experienced and know how to take you to your destination with utmost comfort and safety.
